Construction Management.

The remarkable story of the construction of the Empire State Building in New York predates construction management as an official discipline, but is a testament to how treating construction as an assembly line, with just-in-time material delivery and efficient site management are the hallmarks of modern construction management. Construction began on March 17, 1930.

Construction steps were sequenced so that they began before design is completed, known as “fast track” in construction management terminology. Rising at a pace of 4.5 stories per week, construction was completed in a record-breaking 1 year and 45 days on, utilizing over 60 subcontractors. It was the world’s first 102 story building.

In 1975, the three leading national associations in the United States i.e. Architects, Engineers, and General Contractors, issued a joint statement that, for the first time, recognized construction management as a distinct discipline. Shortly thereafter, in 1982 Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) was founded. CMA is proud to be associated with CMAA.

Projects utilizing construction management are delivered at a marginally lower cost than those delivered using traditional methods.

CMA was engaged by Employers as a Construction Manager on several major projects, from hotels to cement plants and high rise towers in Jordan and neighboring countries. During construction, we’ve assisted Contractors with our innovative alternate solutions that reduced construction time.

As a Construction Manager, we ensure that project proceeds are strictly utilized for the project, and also ensure that the Contractors’ work force is paid on time so that they remain motivated and work hard. This is equally true for the Contractors’ subcontractors and suppliers to maintain their cash flow and build trusting relationships.

CMA cultivates a problem-solving attitude, one based on collaboration rather than management by authority, which is why Employers choose to partner with CMA before construction starts, and lay the foundations for a successful project.
