Isam Saad Sahawneh Founder, President & CEO

Isam Saad Sahawneh is the Founder, President & CEO of Construction Management Associates. He has more than 44 years of experience as a construction leader running large international organizations around the world, and has served as CEO and Member of the Board at Dywidag Systems International in Hong Kong, one of the world’s largest specialist contractors, leading the business for the North East and South East Asia regions. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Special Projects for VSL International in Switzerland, the world’s largest specialist contractor.

Earlier in his career, he was responsible for civil works on the world’s largest desalination and power plant for the Saline Water Conversion Corporation in Saudi Arabia, then supervised and managed a subcontractor on a 3 kilometer twin precast concrete viaduct, and led the production and installation of precast concrete elements on a large housing scheme for the Saudi National Guard.

He has extensive experience in leading multinational companies, mobilizing teams for the management and construction of mega civil engineering and infrastructure projects, negotiating high-profile contracts, preparing claims, arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution, and providing expert testimony across Europe, Middle East, Africa, North East Asia and South East Asia.

He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Jordan Arbitrators Association, the Jordanian Association of Civil Engineers – expert classification, and the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International.

He received his Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering degree from the University of Colorado, his Construction Management Diploma from North Carolina State University, and his Diploma in Arbitration from the College of Estate Management at the University of Reading.
